Letter: Recall of Guinn is not credible
Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003 | 8:56 a.m.
A recall of Gov. Kenny Guinn? Enough already.
The Nevada news media must have had a slow news day last week to have paid any attention to this lame and pathetic effort. This recall effort is a complete waste of time and newsprint, a nonstory going nowhere fast. This is not California, not even close.
Whether you agreed or disagreed with Guinn's stance on taxes during the last legislative session, the fact is that we elected this decent man twice by large margins as our governor. The public needs to know that the leader of the recall effort, "political consultant" Tony Dane, has absolutely zero credibility within the Nevada Republican Party.
He has no financing, no organization, no volunteers and no cause. He couldn't come up with a good reason when asked for the motivation of his efforts. Dane is barking up the wrong tree.
