Former WorldCom exec charged

Former WorldCom chief executive Bernie Ebbers was booked today in Oklahoma on charges of violating Oklahoma securities laws, the first charges brought against the man who critics say presided over the telephone company's $11 billion accounting scandal. Ebbers was fingerprinted, photographed, and then released pending an afternoon court appearance, said Oklahoma County Sheriff's Sgt. Rochelle Thompson.
