Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003 | 8:30 a.m.
Clark County Commissioners Chip Maxfield and Mary Kincaid-Chauncey will hold a neighborhood meeting Wednesday to discuss the Aug. 19 flooding in northwest Las Vegas.
Representatives of the Clark County Regional Flood Control District, the Clark County Departments of Public Works and Social Services, the United Way and the American Red Cross are scheduled to attend.
The meeting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mountain Crest Park Neighborhood Services Center, 4701 N. Durango Drive, between Red Coach Avenue and Lone Mountain Road.
The discussion will include an update on the progress of local efforts to request low interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration to help property owners pay for flood damages.
Dozens of homes were damaged in the flooding that occurred after 3 inches of rain fell in less than an hour in the northwest.
"We encourage any residents who were affected by the flood or who have concerns as a result of the storm to attend this meeting," Maxfield said.
For information on the meeting, call 455-1900.
