Two-day festival

Clark County Parks and Community Services presents "Life in Death: The Day in the Dead in Las Vegas," a two-day festival based on the Mexican holiday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Mexican dance performances will be held in Winchester Theatre both days. The festival is free, but admission to the theater performances is $3. 455-7340.

Author R.A. Salvatore will sign copies of his book, "The Lone Drow," from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Borders Books & Music, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd. 638-7866.

Film series

Las Vegas-Clark County District presents the film "Business of Fancydancing" at 7 p.m. Thursday at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd., as part of Native American Heritage Month. Admission is free. 507-3940.

Lecture

Ceramist Patty Warashina will host a lecture at 7 p.m. Tuesday at UNLV as part of the university's "Visiting Artist Program." Admission is free. 895-1575.
