Firefighters extinguished a small fire on the roof of the Marjorie Barrack Museum of Natural History this morning, according to Clark County officials.
An air-conditioner on the roof of the museum located on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus caught fire. A crew of about 25 fire personnel arrived at 9:40 and put the fire out, said Clark County Fire Department spokesman Bob Leinbach.
"There was no real damage," Leinbach said.
A UNLV official working in the building this morning said work crews happened to be checking on the roof of another installation when a fire erupted from one of the air-conditioners.
"It's a good thing they were on roof looking at something else, otherwise it could have been pretty bad," said Pattie Baldwin, director of finance for the Harry Reid center.
