Grant to help EOB drug program

The EOB Community Action Partnership of Las Vegas has received $2.4 million over five years from the federal Health and Human Services to fund substance abuse prevention programs and treatment services for people with or at risk of HIV.
The EOB will receive $499,631 the first year and then $497,159 for each of the remaining four years.
Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson announced the $156.5 million in 115 awards Thursday.
