Joseph M. Cannon

Joseph M. Cannon, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1930, in Braux Bridge, La. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired bartender and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Claire Barris, and two brothers, Robert Brownlee and Laurel Brownlee, both of Port Arthur, Texas.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.

James L. Daugherty

James L. Daugherty, 60, of Las Vegas died Oct. 12 in Las Vegas. A resident for 33 years, he was born June 6, 1943, in Hampton, Ark.

He is survived by one daughter, Rosemary Childs, and one sister, Shirley Daugherty, both of Arkansas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 2 p.m. services Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane.

Luciano DeLucia Jr.

Luciano DeLucia Jr., 23, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born May 9, 1980, in Circleville, Ohio. A resident for seven years, he was a graphic artist for a traffic controller.

He is survived by his parents, Elizabeth and Luciano DeLucia Sr., and two sisters, Allison DeLucia and Amanda DeLucia, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Edna Mitricka of Linden, N.J., and Juanita and Samuel DeLucia of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Barbara J. DeSutter

Barbara J. DeSutter, 80, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Detroit. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker and a Coast Guard veteran.

She is survived by three daughters, Michele Calder of Las Vegas, Pam Hammitt of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Barbara Lee Bryant of Riverview, Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Dolores 'Lola' Espinoza

Dolores "Lola" Espinoza, 81, of Henderson died Sunday in a local care center. She was born April 7, 1922, in Chama, N.M. A resident for more than 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Ann Rutrough and Linda Espinoza, both of Henderson, Katy Parrott of Pahrump and Connie Balkwill of Puyallup, Wash.; one son, Orlando Espinoza of Henderson; one sister, Servilia Johnson of Bloomfield, N.M.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is private. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Guy Carleton Fargo

Guy Carleton Fargo, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Feb. 19, 1919, in South Dayton, N.Y. A resident for two years, he was a retired pharmacist and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia H.; one son, Bruce Fargo of Las Vegas; one daughter, Lisa Eslick of Decatur, Texas; two sisters, Mynetta Fluker of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Melva Trudell of South Dayton; and three grandchildren.

Florence Fogel

Florence Fogel, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born Nov. 11, 1929, in New York City. A resident for 14 years, she was a customer service representative for the state government.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold; two sons, Peter Fogel and Lee Fogel, both of San Francisco; two sisters, Bernice Sheridan of New Jersey and Stella Stevens of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Graveside services were scheduled at 1:20 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Richard B. Hayes

Richard B. Hayes, 59, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 22, 1943, in Norwalk, Ohio. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired federal government vehicle maintenance worker and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Phillip Hayes of Las Vegas; and one sister, Emily Blackford of Rimerock, Ariz.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-noon Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jack Herman

Jack Herman, 56, of North Las Vegas, died Thursday. He was born Sept. 15, 1947, in Philadelphia. A resident for five years, he was a mechanic for a transportation company and a Seabees veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; one daughter, Tabitha K. Fazzone of Aberdeen, Md.; one son, Robert J. Herman of Las Vegas; two brothers, Philip R. Herman Jr. of New Britain, Pa., and Glen Herman of Philadelphia; one sister, Dee Heinbach of Leesburg, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Visistation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Romell F. Lasta

Romell F. Lasta, 60, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1942, in Ozamis, Philippines. A resident for four years, he was a retired physician and a member of Sagaynon of America.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda B.; three daughters, Gazelle T. Reveche and Lorie M. Lasta, both of Las Vegas, and Ginah L. Lasta of Woodland Hills, Calif.; one son, Rousell J. Lasta of Las Vegas; one son, Rousell J. Lasta of Las Vegas; his mother, Visitacion Lasta of the Philippines; three brothers, Paul Lasta of Las Vegas, Ely Lasta of the Philippines and Bobby Lasta of Chicago; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jay Lawrence Levinson

Jay Lawrence Levinson, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 12, 1953, in Far Rockaway, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, he was a taxicab driver, a Vietnam War Air Force veteran, a former New York City and Las Vegas paramedic.

He is survived by his father, Allan M. Levinson; and his godson, Adam Dunson.

Alice M. Matthews

Alice M. Matthews, 93, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 25, 1910, in St. Louis. A resident for 38 years, she was a hotel accounting clerk.

She is survived by one daughter, Joan Leppla Weiland of Tavares, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Edith Moore

Edith Moore, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Groom, Texas. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired aerospace electronics technician who worked for 25 years with the space shuttle program, was a member of United Auto Workers Union and founding member of the Southern California chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Moore.

She is survived by one son, William Moore of Incline Village; one daughter, Lynda Hering of Las Vegas; one brother, Carl; two sisters, Agnes and Goldie; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Gordon Dale Morse

Gordon Dale Morse, 55, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 19, 1948, in Minneapolis. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Utai; one daughter, Jim Gantz of Germany; two sons, Anek Chitamin of Las Vegas and Anan Chitmin of Japan; his mother, Marie Morse of Corquet, Minn.; six brothers and sisters; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Colby Andrew Pruit

Colby Andrew Pruit, 7 weeks, of Henderson died Oct. 8. He was born Aug. 15, 2003, in Henderson.

He is survived by his parents, Courtney Peters-Pruit and Philip Pruit; and his grandparents, Carla and Jon Lowry, Robert and Kimberly Peters and Carl and Karen Pruit.

Clayton Robert Short

Clayton Robert Short, 76, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 10, 1927, in Glenwood, Ariz. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired timber company manager and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sammie; two daughters, Laura Peterson of Barra, Mexico, and Connie Nelson of Juneau, Alaska; three sons, Ronald Short of Henderson, Stephen Short of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Michael Short of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Mildred Goss of Hood River, Ore.; two brothers, J.T. Short of Hood River and Ben Short of Hillsboro, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the LDS South Point Ward, 2091 E. Wigwam Parkway. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Stephen R. Vitangeli

Stephen R. Vitangeli, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 15, 1942, in Trenton, N.J. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired hotel customer service representative.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite M.; two sons, Damon R. Vitangeli of Salt Lake City and Michael Vitangeli of Las Vegas; his mother, Amelia Vitangeli, two sisters, Louise Cauda and Carol Motti, and one brother, Daniel Vitangeli, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Joe Elton Woods

Joe Elton Woods, 80, of Salt Lake City died Saturday in Salt Lake City. He was born June 26, 1923, in Jayton, Texas. A former Las Vegas resident, he was an electronics engineer at an aircraft plant, a radio mechanic and electronics technician, a Navy veteran, an LDS temple worker, built an airplane that he later flew and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; and stepdaughter, Patricia Hollinger.

He is survived by four stepdaughters, Cathy Banks of West Valley City, Utah, Vickie Abbott of Sparks, Bonnie Brayfield of West Jordan, Utah, and Theron Hansen of Mesa, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, is handling arrangements.
