Firefighter Crews loses long battle with cancer

Funeral services were scheduled today for Las Vegas firefighter Ronald Edward Crews, 47, who lost a long battle with cancer.
The former player for the Cleveland Browns was to receive full firefighter memorial services at 1:30 p.m. today at Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, near U.S. 95 and Russell Road.
Crews was a 17-yar veteran of the department. He was an engineer driving fire engines since 1980. He received several awards for his service, including one that involved a rescue.
Crews attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Notre Dame University.
He is survived by his wife, Dora, of Las Vegas. They have two sons, Daniel, 18, and Randall, 16.
