Minneapolis-based Bemis Co. announced Thursday that it will close its North Las Vegas MACtac manufacturing plant on March 31, laying off 56 local employees.
The Las Vegas employees were notified this week of plans to close the plant, located at 4701 Mitchell St., near Craig Road and Interstate 15. The plant opened in 1990 and produced adhesive labels.
As part of companywide restructuring plans, Bemis also will close a similar plant in Brampton, Canada.
