Letter: News media is too easy on Bush
Friday, Oct. 24, 2003 | 5:38 a.m.
WEEKEND EDITION Oct. 24 - 26, 2003
I'm so frustrated by news organizations and the way they are reporting the war in Iraq. President Bush lied to get us into this war and news outlets are not holding him to the same standards as they held President Clinton. The news media went after Clinton 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During times when my grandchildren were watching TV to see cartoons, they even showed and talked about Monica.
Now, Bush lies about why we are in this war and they don't hold his feet to the fire. Imagine if Clinton had lied about something this important. Day and night they would talk about how he lied to go to war.
It seems like the media doesn't care about our troops getting killed and maimed every day. The media won't tell the people the whole truth and if the media won't hold the administration accountable, who will? How many more troops will die before we can get President Bush out of office?
