Haunted house

Screamers Haunted House opens its doors in Las Vegas for the fifth straight year. Hours are 6 p.m. to 2 p.m. nightly through Halloween at 5115 S. Industrial Road. Tickets are $10. Children under 10 are not permitted without an adult. 245-7808 or 808-5710.

Street of Screams

KB Home hosts its second annual "Street of Screams" from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at KB Home's Iron Mountain Ranch community. Admission is free. 739-9933.

Oktoberfest

Catholic Charities Child Care Center invites the community to an open house and Halloween Oktoberfest for children and their parents from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at 451 E. Twain Ave. The event is free. 735-4358.

Harvest festival

The Pulidor Foundation will host its 31st annual Harvest Festival from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at 3521 N. Durango Drive. Admission is free. 240-9622.

'Gravity' party

Central Christian Church's High School Ministries will host a "Gravity" party from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at 1001 New Beginnings Drive. Admission is $5. 735-4004.

Cirque du Demons

Cirque du Demons, a 4,800-square-foot haunted house, will be offered from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday until Nov. 1 at 1717 S. Decatur Blvd. Admission is $13. For more information or discount coupons, go to www.dbdhaunt.com.

Fright Sight

The Henderson Rotary Club presents Fright Sight -- the Ultimated Haunted Maze at Lake Mead and Reserve boulevards, next to the Fiesta Hotel, from dusk to dawn today and Saturday and nightly from Sunday through Oct. 31. Admission is $10. 312-6333.

Halloween bash

FunWerks is offering a Halloween Bash for children 5 to 17 from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Admission is $15 per person. Activities include a haunted house, unlimited mini-golf, bumper boats, go-cart rides and a costume contest for children 5-10 at 6 p.m., 11-13 at 6:30 p.m. and from 14-17 at 7 p.m. 898-7777, ext. 16.

Fright Dome

Circus-Circus' Adventuredome has been transformed into the "Fright Dome," and features a large-scale haunted house, two sinister stage shows, a haunted arcade, a monster midway and 14 rides. In addition, techno-tribal performance troupe Wildfire will perform in Fright Dome throughout the month. Through Oct. 31. 696-1999.

Haunted Shark Reef

Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef will transform into an underwater haunted tropical reef from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday. Children 12 and under in costume can trick or treat with their regular paid admission. Tickets are $14.95 for adults and $9.95 for children. Those 4 and under get in free. 632-4555.

Dinner theater

Lawry's the Prime Rib, 4043 Howard Hughes Pkwy., presents "A Wedding in Transylvania," a dinner theater mystery, at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 31. Tickets are $65, which includes the play and a prime rib dinner. Guests are invited to dress up in costume. 893-2223.

Haunted houses

Freakling Bros. will present three different haunted houses at the following locations. All venues are open from 6:30 p.m. to midnight today and Oct. 31, and Saturday and Nov. 1, and from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday until the end of the month. Admission is $9, or $21 for all three attractions:

The Mortuary -- Sunset Station Hotel & Casino.

The Black Box -- United Artists Theatre at the intersection of Rainbow and Smoke Ranch.

The Dungeon -- Kmart center at the intersection of Nellis and Bonanza.

Safe Street

Families are invited to Sunny 106.5's 13th annual Safe Street at Opportunity Village from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 31. The Magical Forest at Opportunity Village becomes the Haunted Forest for children 12 and under. Admission is $5 per child and $7 per adult. All proceeds go to Opportunity Village, 6300 W. Oakey, between Torrey Pines and Jones, a work training and advocacy center for people with profound disabilities in Southern Nevada. 259-3741.

'Nightmare'

The MGM Grand's 54th Street will host the city's "Nightmare on 54th Street" beginning Tuesday and running through Saturday, Nov. 1. Events include:

Hallow-EDEN -- 10 p.m. Tuesday. DJ Frankie and DJ Jose 2 Hype along with Joey D of New York will spin a devilishly deviant blend of music mixes.

37th annual Beaux Arts Ball -- 10 p.m. Thursday. DJ R.O.B. and DJ Lisa Pittman will spin music suited to the occasion. Admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. All proceeds benefit Golden Rainbow, which helps those with HIV/AIDS in the community.

"Nightmare on 54th Street" -- 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Guests are encouraged to come clad in their most outrageous Halloween concoction. Dance among stilt-walkers, fetish-crazed fairies, fire-eaters and vampy, gothic vixens. The party continues to Saturday, Nov. 1, for those unable to attend the pre-weekend bash.

Tabu Halloween party -- Tabu at the MGM Grand will take on a Moulin Rouge motif for Halloween. The lounge's staff will be costumed in lingerie from Le Boudoir, and a costume contest for the sexiest lingerie will be held at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, atop Tabu's interactive tables. DJ Frankie will serve as contest emcee, and DJs Jose 2 Hype and Javier Alba will spin sinister music mixes suited to the occasion.

Haunted mansion

Curve Ultra-Lounge at the Aladdin is celebrating Halloween with a "Haunted Mansion" at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. The evening features dancing to DJ tag team DJ "Kapser" and DJ "Frankie Bones," and watching scenes from some of the greatest horror movies of all time. Admission is $20, and attendees must be 21 or older.

'Haunted and Hip'

The Legacy Society launches "The Haunted and the Hip" inaugural Halloween party at Venus, the nightclub at The Venetian, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. The event includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres prepared by Wolfgang Puck's Postrio, tarot card reader Mystic Mona and a costume contest, including a $1,000 grand prize. Masquerade party

More than $40,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded at the Halloween Masquerade Party at the first Las Vegas Comic-Con at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Costume parties

Palms hosts a pair of costume parties on Halloween. The first, the second annual "Angels in the Attic," will begin at 8 p.m. at ghostbar, and the first "Leather and Lace Gala" begins at 10 p.m. at Rain in the Desert.
