Paul Joseph Akins
Paul Joseph Akins, 43, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1960, in Florida. A resident for 17 years, he was a work order processor for the Las Vegas Valley Water District and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his parents, David J. and Lulu B. Akins, and two brothers, Louis Rechard and David A. Akins, all of Florida; and one sister, Myrna Hillard.
Visitation is scheduled 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, 1117 F St. Services and burial will be in Florida. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
Ethel Jean Ball
Ethel Jean Ball, 75, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born April 28, 1928, in Waverly, Neb. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired telephone company supervisor.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn; two daughters, Rebecca Elliott of Las Vegas and Linda Schillinger of Waterford, Mich.; one son, Jerry Ball of Holland, Neb.; three sisters, Jeanette Smith and Hazel Dean, both of California, and Jayne Smith of Henderson; one brother, Leonard Smith of Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. today in Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Lillian Barron
Lillian Barron, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born March 6, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker, a member of Congregation Ner Tamid Sisterhood, Temple Beth Sholom Sisterhood, a lifetime member of B'nai B'rith Women and Hadassah.
She is survived by one son, Steven Barron of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in Nebraska. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Harriet B. Barth
Harriet B. Barth, 73, of Pahrump died Sunday in Pahrump. She was born March 29, 1930, in Decatur, Ill. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired clothing saleswoman.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; four daughters, Paula Williams of Pahrump, Carla DeMauro of Apache Junction, Ariz., Marla Laughlin of Las Vegas and Darla Sova of Pahrump; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
James E. Bishop
James E. Bishop, 72, of Las Vegas died Oct. 8 in a local hospital. He was born June 20, 1931, in Peoria, Ill. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired trouble shooter in manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; one stepdaughter, Amber Flynn of Torrance, Calif.; one sister, Pauline Bury, and one brother, Howard Bishop, both of East Peoria; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Steven David Cleland
Steven David Cleland, 40, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 3, 1963, in Elmhurst, Ill. A resident for six years, he was a plasterer.
He is survived by one son, Steven Cleland Jr. of Illinois; and his mother, LaVerne Cleland of Las Vegas.

Felix Anton De La Cruz
Felix Anton De La Cruz, 51, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 17, 1951, in Fresno, Calif. A resident for 17 years, he was a systems engineer.
He is survived by his companion, Joann Ellah of Las Vegas; and one daughter, Lauren De La Cruz of San Francisco.

Kevin Holliman
Kevin Holliman, 26, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 17, 1977, in Costa Rica. A resident for 13 years, he was an electrician.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Mattos-Holliman; two sons, Kaleb Holliman and Irie Holliman, both of North Las Vegas; and his parents, Maria and William Holliman of Las Vegas.

Ruth Kaplan
Ruth Kaplan, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 14, 1917, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by four sons, Gene Kaplan of Omaha, Neb., Steve Kaplan of Aurora, Ohio, Marc Kaplan of Payson, Ariz., and Donn Kaplan of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Gilbert E. Kirkland
Gilbert E. Kirkland, 71, of Las Vegas died Oct. 6 in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Philadelphia. A resident for four years, he was a retired banquet waiter and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sally A.; one son, Anthony Eugene Kirkland of Baltimore; one stepson, Darryl S. Kirkland of Fayetteville, N.C.

Earl Lee Lindsay
Earl Lee Lindsay, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 24, 1929, in Lawnside, N.J. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired hotel porter and an Army veteran.
He is survived by two sisters, Janniece Brown of Las Vegas and Laura Johnson of Pennsylvania; and one niece, Dorothy Lindsey of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Private services will be in San Diego. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Ruby T. Moya
Ruby T. Moya, 80, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 13, 1923, in Quemado, N.M. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired apartment complex manager and a member of St. Andrew's Altar Society.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruby Reid of Boulder City; two sons, Jimmy Moya of Temecula, Calif., and Moses Moya of Boulder City; two sisters, Della Martinez and Inez Mazon, and one brother, Fred C. Tafoya, all of Phoenix; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Boulder City Cemetery.

Michael Wayne Myers
Michael Wayne Myers, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 23, 1952, in Mitchell, S.D. A resident for 31 years, he was an optician and a member of the Southern Nevada Opticians Society.
He is survived by his wife, Diane P.; one daughter, Haley Myers, and two sons, Shane Myers and Cody Myers, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.
Hayim Rodrik
Hayim Rodrik, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Ankara, Turkey. A resident for seven years, he was a retired physician.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann; two daughters, Deborah Boyden and Sandra Rodrik; and one son, Peter D. Rodrik of Gaithersburg, Md.
Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.
Shirley Saks
Shirley Saks, 82, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born June 25, 1921, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the City of Hope and Temple B'Nai Emet Sisterhood in Montebello, Calif.
She is survived by one daughter, Doria Dodd of Henderson; two sons, Barry Saks of Long Beach, Calif., and Howard Saks of San Gabriel, Calif.; one brother, Bernard Gross of Henderson; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.
Maxine 'Mickie' Underwood
Maxine "Mickie" Underwood, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 9, 1937, in Arkansas. A resident for seven years, she was a retail saleswoman.
She is survived by her significant other, Bob Evans of Las Vegas; two sons, Dennis Hartley of Michigan and Bret Underwood of Las Vegas; one daughter, Hope Hartley, and her special girlfriend, Mary Fusinski, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Dan Jenkins of California, Larry Jenkins of Florida and Steve Jenkins of Texas; one sister, Sherri Bloomhorst of Texas; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be in Michigan.
Antoinette Verdi
Antoinette Verdi, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 3, 1920, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired corrections officer, a member of the seniors group and arts and crafts group at Christ the King Catholic Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Madeline Verdi, Nina Bauer and Jeanette Verdi, all of the Bronx, and Sallyann Verdi of Las Vegas; two sons, Christopher Verdi and Ernest Pandolfi, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Joseph Marra of Tucson and Abic Marra of the Bronx; one sister, Mary Petrino of Parsippany, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Dolley Wood
Dolley Wood, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 25, 1926, in Gerald, Mo. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, John Wood, and one daughter, Deborah Pippin, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Doris Young of Moberly, Mo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
