311 Boyz hearing postponed

A hearing for the alleged 311 Boyz was postponed this morning after a judge said he needed more time to hear a series of arguments by prosecutors and defense attorneys.
District Judge Michael Cherry reset hearings for Oct. 31 and Nov. 3 for the nine teens charged with multiple felony counts in an attack that maimed 17-year-old Stephen Tanner Hansen.
Only three of the teens charged, Dominic Harriman, 19, Steven Gazlay, 18, and Scott Morse, 18, appeared in court this morning. Cherry had waived appearances for the other teens but ordered that they appear at all future court dates.
Six attorneys for the teens have filed motions asking that the charges against their clients be dismissed for various reasons, including claims of insufficient evidence and inappropriate grand jury instructions. Those arguments will be heard Nov. 3, Cherry said.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Christopher Laurent has filed a motion to strike two of those motions, saying they were not filed in the 21-day time frame required by law. Those arguments will be heard during an Oct. 30 hearing.
Morse, Harriman, Gazlay, Jeff Hart, 17, Ernest Bradley Aguilar, 17, twins Anthony and Brandon Gallion, 16, Mathew Costello, 17, Christopher Farley, 18, were charged in the attack.
