Vegas strip club auctioned

Pussycat's Inc., which runs a nude dancing club at 3525 S. Procyon St., near the intersection of Valley View and Spring Mountain roads, was sold at auction last week for $855,000.
Robert Deiro and Associates, the Las Vegas firm that handled the sale, reported strong interested in the auction, saying it received an estimated 20 telephone calls a day leading up to the sale from potential bidders. About half a dozen bidders showed up for the auction.
In Business Las Vegas, a sister newspaper to the Las Vegas Sun, reported the 3,600-square-foot club was purchased by an unidentified telephone bidder.
Interest in the sale illustrates a boom in the adult nightclub business. In 1998, six nude and topless clubs were licensed in Clark County. This year, 21 such clubs are licensed in county, and two more applications are pending.
In Las Vegas, 10 clubs are currently licensed, up from seven in 1998.
