Las Vegas community banks’ results mixed

Las Vegas-based Sun West Bank reported third-quarter net income of $945,000, up from $604,000 in the same year-ago period.
The bank also reported total assets as on Sept. 30 of $216 million, a 30 percent increase from 2002. Sun West has three branches in the Las Vegas area and two in Reno.
Henderson-based Valley Bancorp last week reported third-quarter net income of $413,000, up 38 percent from the $300,000 reported for the same 2002 period.
The company, which operates two Valley Bank branches in the Las Vegas Valley and one in Pahrump, also reported total assets of $181 million on Sept. 30, up from $140 million a year ago.
Bank of Commerce, also based in Henderson, reported third-quarter net earnings of $267,577, down from $313,447 in the same 2002 quarter.
The bank also reported net assets of more than $131 million as of Sept. 30. That's up from $107 million in total assets on Sept. 30, 2002.
Bank of Commerce operates three branches in the Las Vegas area.
