RENO -- The flamboyant owner of the Moonlite Bunny says he believes he won the bid for some of the remaining buildings that housed part of the famous Mustang Ranch brothel.
Federal officials have not yet confirmed it. But Dennis Hof said he was the high bidder among 33 bids on an e-Bay auction for the buildings and fixtures that still remain at the Mustang Ranch II just east of Reno.
"It was the first legal brothel in America," Hof told the Reno Gazette-Journal. "It's a historical landmark in my mind."
Hof wants to move the buildings to make a museum next to his brothel in Mound House just east of Carson City. He said his bid totaled $8,101 but that it will cost $50,000 to $75,000 to move the buildings.
