Letter: White tigers are being kept safe
Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 | 9:18 a.m.
Whether everyone agrees or not, there is no doubt that had it not been for Siegfried and Roy's rescue and preservation, the white tiger, in its natural (unsafe) surroundings, would have been an extinct breed.
These devoted animal lovers have dedicated their lives to the animals in every way, including training and caring for the animals and educating the public. They are more than financially capable of accommodating and caring for the animals in a magnificent environment -- and a safer one.
Siegfried and Roy should be commended for their love, dedication and responsibility to these animals.
