NEVADA DIVISION OF WILDLIFE

Anglers reported to the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) that fishing has picked up significantly throughout all of Lake Mead.

Anglers fishing the Overton Beach area reported good success for striped bass at Stewarts Point, Fire Cove and Ann Marguret Cove.

The fish measured 16-18 inches. Anchovies were landing the fish.

Anglers also landed largemouth bass that weighed in at 2 1/2 pounds. The fish were taken close to shore with crankbait, black plastic worms and poppers.

Anglers fishing Echo Bay said that fishing success slowed from the previous week; however, a few striped bass were caught near the exposed sandbars. The fish ranged from 16-18 inches and were taken with anchovies.

Boaters fishing in the vicinity of Saddle Cove and Hemenway Harbor were very successful for striped bass that weighed in from 1 1/2 to 2 pounds. Forty fish were creeled. Anchovies were the bait of choice.
