Reid to visit McDoniel Elementary
Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., was scheduled to meet with families and PTA members of Estes McDoniel Elementary School in Henderson at 5:45 p.m. today.
The half-hour visit was the first stop on the senator's "Capital to Classroom" tour. Reid has been fighting to win more federal funding for education. McDoniel is one of two international schools in the Clark County School Districts.
Seniors get tips on travel plans
Travel related topics will be covered in the Las Vegas Valley Senior Friends Traveling with Friends program at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Green Valley office, 2809 N. Green Valley Parkway, and 9:30 a.m. Friday at the MountainView Senior Friends Office, 8524 Del Webb Blvd, 255-5404.
Presenters will be Anne McCall of Tours of Distinction and Eric Sheppard of Collette Vacations.
In addition to learning valuable travel information, Collette Vacations and Tours of Distinction will announce their upcoming 2004 Senior Friends tour packages. Trips will include such locations as Tuscany, the Canadian Rockies, New Orleans, Australia and the annual Rose Parad.

SCORE schedules business seminar
The Las Vegas Chapter of Service Corps of Retired Executives will be presenting a How To Start Your Own Business seminar at 9 a.m. Thursday at the City Centre Building, 400 S. Fourth St., Suite 250A.
SCORE counselors will cover marketing, cash flow, the Business Plan and Check List for Licensing, Permits and other Requirements.
The $45 fee includes a reference manual and workbook to help analyze your business idea.

with the Clark County Health District will provide flu shots for its members from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at its MountianView Office, 8524 Del Web Blvd. Reservations are required. Call 836-5803 or (800) 480-1617.
Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services
