The Nye County School District is the only school district in Nevada that is getting a piece of $38 million in federal grants being distributed for emergency response and crisis management planning.
The money can also be used to buy equipment and to work with health and mental health agencies in the time after any emergency. The U.S. Department of Education is distributing the funds to 134 school districts in 39 days for the training of school workers, parents and students in crisis response and to coordinate their efforts with fire and police departments.
Nye is going to receive a $100,000.
