Richard D. Anderson
Richard D. Anderson, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Salt Lake City. A resident for eight years, he was a retired computer programmer for city government and a World War II Coast Guard veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffry L. Anderson of Ukiah, Calif., and Ron Alan Anderson of Riverton, Utah; two daughters, Lisa Gay Anderson of Salt Lake City and Janet Smith of Bountiful, Utah; one brother, Robert H. Anderson of Rialto, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 9:30 a.m. service Thursday at 1801 S. Monte Cristo Way. Graveside services will follow at noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Stephen E. Brooks
Stephen E. Brooks, 48, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 18, 1955, in Lynwood, Calif. A resident for 36 years, he was a hotel bartender and a member of the Bartenders and Culinary Local 226.
He is survived by his mother, Natalia Abel, one brother, John Edward Brooks, and one sister, Victoria E. Brooks-Sutton, all of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.
Mary Frances Cavaretta
Mary Frances Cavaretta, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Cavaretta and Gary Cavaretta, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Marlene English of Las Vegas and Donna Rea of Leawood, Kan.; three sisters, Vita Ruffino and Frances Biondolello, both of Burbank, Calif., and Ann Gullo of Buffalo; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Thomas R. Chapman
Thomas R. Chapman, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born June 17, 1917, in Chicago. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired Union Plaza hotel photographer, a World War II Army veteran, a former member of the Las Vegas Camera Club, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Senior Tripsters.
He is survived by one daughter, Claudia Branigan of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
John Chelini
John Chelini, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 24, 1947, in New York. A resident for 33 years, he was a police officer and Vietnam War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne; two sons, Chris LeGrow of Omaha, Neb., and Andy LeGrow of Las Vegas; two daughters, Renee Weiland and Amy Chelini, both of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., handled arrangements.
Beverly Louise Fernandes
Beverly Louise Fernandes, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 1, 1935, in Acushnet, Mass. A resident for six years, she was a retired medical records clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; two sons, Steven Michael Fernandes of Lakewood, Calif., and Scott Francis Fernandes of Los Alamitos, Calif.; three brothers, John Bettencourt of Las Vegas, Albert Bettencourt of Lomita, Calif., and Frank Bettencourt of New Hampshire; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Joseph R. Gallen
Joseph R. Gallen, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 1935, in Cumberland, Md. A resident for 15 years, he was an attorney in Las Vegas for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A.; one daughter, Mary K. Bohn of Cumberland; four sons, Joseph P. Gallen and Michael J. Gallen, both of Las Vegas, David W. Gallen of Jacksonville, Fla., and Rick Kaline of Baltimore; one brother, John V. Gallen of Wiley Ford, W.Va.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Gary A. Gross
Gary A. Gross, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 23, 1943, in Redwood City, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a gaming supervisor at the MGM Grand.
He is survived by his wife, Fay; one stepdaughter, Susan Raby, and one stepson, Kevin Cruess, both of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; his mother, Doris Gross, one sister, Judy Gross, and one brother, Greg Gross, all of Elk Grove, Calif.; and two grandsons.
Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.
Leticia 'Aunt Letty' Ingham
Leticia "Aunt Letty" Ingham, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired teacher.
She is survived by one sister, Teresa Salapong of Las Vegas; three brothers, Norbeto Salapong of Las Vegas and Maximo Salapong and Edgardo Salapong, both of the Philippines.
Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in St. Viator's Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Nancy J. McCusker
Nancy J. McCusker, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Lawrence, Mass. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Mac; three children, Jody Lewis of Idaho, Eric West of Massachusetts and Jeff West of New Jersey; her mother, Doris A. Jones of California; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Wednesday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St. Graveside services will follow at noon Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.
James Edward McKines III
James Edward McKines III, 24, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 14, 1979, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a carpenter.
He is survived by his father, James McKines; his mother, Janice Proctor; two brothers, LeRoy Davis and Johnny Davis, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lashawn Davis of Texas and Jamitrius Wattree of Las Vegas.
Visitation was Monday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Services will be 11 a.m. today in Church of the Lord Jesus, 1260 W. Bartlett Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mayo Ordean McCulloch
Mayo Ordean McCulloch, 60, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 4, 1943, in Idaho. A resident for 10 years, he was an instructor for Pahrump Community College, an Air Force veteran, a member of the Gold Prospectors Association and Lost Dutchman's Miners Association.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A.; one son, Timothy McCulloch; one daughter, Sari McCulloch Wheller; two sisters, Penney McCready and SaReta McCulloch-Hofius; and five grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
George Albert Nicholson
George Albert Nicholson, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. He was born March 12, 1931, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for 35 years, he was a hotel receiving clerk and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by one son, Reginald Nicholson of Phoenix; one brother, Robert Nicholson of Los Angeles; four sisters, Freddie McAllister of North Las Vegas, Ann and Dorothy, both of Los Angeles, and Beverly of Phoenix; one grandchild; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.
Joseph Rodriguez
Joseph Rodriguez, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Los Angeles. A resident for 13 years, he was a maintenance worker and painter for the Clark County School District, a World War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; 13 children; two sisters, Mercedes and Mary; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Thursday in in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Patricia Wimberly
Patricia Wimberly, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 10, 1935, in Wisconsin. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Hancock of Las Vegas and Larry Hancock of California; three daughters, Cindy Rhoades of California, Kim Priest of Utah and Beth Cookson of Las Vegas; and her mother, Helen McCluskey of Las Vegas.
Services will be 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
