CARSON CITY -- After being re-elected as chairwoman of the Nevada Republican Party without opposition, Lia Roberts of Las Vegas said one of her top priorities is to "deliver Nevada to President Bush" in the next election.
Roberts was re-elected Saturday at the meeting in Las Vegas of the state GOP Central Committee. Other officers re-elected were vice chairwoman Trudy Hushbeck of Carson City, secretary Carol Mering of Battle Mountain and treasurer Steve Martin of Las Vegas.
The central committee also set the rules for electing delegates to the national GOP convention in New York City.
Roberts, who was initially elected six months ago to fill the term of Chairman Bob Seale, who resigned, said her goal is to register more Republicans.
"We would like to unseat Sen. (Harry) Reid. We do not have all the candidates out. But it is very do-able," she said.
The state Republican Convention will be April 29-30 and May 1 in Reno.
