Salim Talib Elam, one of 17 defendants in a Las Vegas insurance scam, was sentenced last week to two years probation on a conspiracy charge.
Elam, who entered a guilty plea in the case, also was ordered by Clark County District Court Judge John McGroarty to pay $3,580 in restitution and court costs.
Elam worked with Guy M. Sheets, a regional supervisor with the California State Automobile Association, and Deborah M. Bray, a claims adjuster, to set up false insurance claims, authorities said.
Sheets and Bray also entered guilty pleas late last year and were placed on probation. Both were ordered to pay more than $65,000 in restitution and court costs.
