Music
Trio Eisenstadt
Trio Eisenstadt, a classical music trio, will perform a bassoon recital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Doc Rando Recital Hall in UNLV's Beam Music Center. Admission is free. 895-1575.
'Spirit of America'
The Las Vegas Philharmonic opens its 5th anniversary season with "The Spirit of America" at 8 p.m. Saturday at UNLV's Artemus W. Ham Hall. For information, call 895-2787.
Lunchtime concert
Free Friday lunchtime concerts will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. until Nov. 7 at Frank Wright Plaza at the corner of 4th Street and Stewart Avenue. Entertainment will be provided by the Tony Marques Band, and Jillian's offers a lunchtime menu. Admission is free, but lunch is $6. Sack lunches are allowed. 229-4614.
Wind Orchestra
The UNLV Wind Orchestra will perform in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Artemus W. Ham Hall on the UNLV campus. 895-1575.
Polka festival
"Polkapalooza," two days of polka music and dancing featuring 13-time Grammy Award-winner Jimmy Sturr & His Orchestra, is noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Stardust. Admission is $15 per person. 732-6234.
Brass band
New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band performs at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Clark County Government Center Ampitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free. 455-8200.
Concert
R&B/jazz vocalist Ruth Brown, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, performs at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. Tickets are $12 at the door and $10 in advance. 229-6383.
Quintet
The Las Vegas Wind Quintet presents a musical tour of Germany titled, "Ein Nachmittag der Entzuckenden Deutchen Muswik," at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Admission is free, but tickets are required. 229-6211.
Youth orchestras
The Las Vegas Youth Orchestras, co-sponsored by Clark County School District and Friends of Las Vegas Youth Orchestras, will perform at 6 p.m. Thursday at Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzi Park, on West Washington between Rancho and Valley View. Ensemble Versailles

'The Angry Inch'
