Theater
'Once on This Island'
Sierra Vista High School presents the musical, "Once on This Island," at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the high school's theater, 8100 W. Robindale Road. Ticket prices to be announced. 799-6820, ext. 4097.
'One Christmas Carol'
The Community College of Southern Nevada presents "One Christmas Carol" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the college's Little Theatre. There will also be a one-man performance at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the college's Henderson campus, room C-133. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. 651-5483.

Chamber music
UNLV presents a program of string chamber music at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Doc Rando Recital Hall at the university's Beam Music Center. Admission is free. 895-1575.
Winter concert
The Community College of Southern Nevada Orchestra will perform its winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Horn Theatre on the Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Admission is $5. 651-5483.
Jazz program
The UNLV Jazz Program will host an Alumni Jazz Concert featuring Emeritus Professor Frank Gagliardi at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Judy Bayley Theatre on the UNLV campus. Tickets range from $7 to $15. 895-1575.
Opera scenes
UNLV Opera Theatre presents a program of opera scenes titled, "Magic, Madness and Mayhem," at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Doc Rando Recital Hall of the university's Beam Music Center. Admission is free. 895-1575.
Amateur night
The Beach is now hosting a "Local Band Night" at 9 p.m. every Thursday at 365 Convention Center Drive. The event is free for both participating bands and patrons. 731-1925.
'Fuddy Mears'
Nevada Conservatory Theatre presents "Fuddy Mears" at 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Black Box Theatre on the UNLV campus. Tickets are $7. 895-1575.
'Visiting Mr. Green'
The New City Theatre presents "Visiting Mr. Green" at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 2900 E. Patrick Lane. Tickets are $14 for Friday and Saturday performances, $12 for Sunday performances and $10 for seniors and students. 795-0487.
