Letter: Prisoners don’t need new gym
Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 | 8:35 a.m.
According to an article in last Friday's Las Vegas Sun, the state Public Works Board has decided to spend nearly $10 million of Nevada's $836 million tax increase to build a new gymnasium at the High Desert State Prison.
Criminals who are already receiving free room and board from taxpayers don't need state-of-the-art exercise equipment.
As far as exercise is concerned, running in place provides a fine cardiovascular workout.
