Letter: Fetus deserves ‘right to choose’

Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003 | 8:52 a.m.

The two Nov. 12 letters referring to the passing of the partial-birth abortion bill provide a stark contrast of morals in America today.

On one hand, Ms. Eggers is thankful that America may get "back on the road to the land of the living." On the other hand, Mr. Mundy is upset that a female's "right" to kill a fetus may be eliminated.

Years ago when the Roe v. Wade decision came down, I was younger, dumber and liberal. But after years of discussing and thinking about this subject, I have come to the clear-minded decision that the one who deserves the "right to choose" is the fetus.

Why don't we do away with all this fuss about "rights" and just ask the fetus -- on its 18th birthday -- whether it wants to be aborted? If that were the law of the land, no ones' "rights" would be violated.

If you choose life today, "it" will be able to thank you tomorrow!
