Chowning considers commission

Seven-term Assemblywoman Vonne Chowning, D-North Las Vegas, says she is considering running for the Clark County Commission seat held by Mary Kincaid-Chauncey next year.

Chowning said she had thought about running for the office four years ago before deciding against it.

"A lot of people came up to me at the end of the (legislative) session, urging me to run before all this horrible stuff came out," she said, referring to the federal public corruption indictments of Kincaid-Chauncey Erin Kenny and Dario Herrera.
