Workshops planned on school harassment

The Nevada Anti-Defamation League will host two anti-harassment workshops, "Know Your Rights," as part of the Clark County School District's first Soaring to Close the Achievement Gap conference.

The workshops will be from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Tuscany hotel.

The workshops are open to the public and feature information on hate on the Internet, when free speech is hate talk, and ideas on what schools can do to promote acceptance of diversity on campus.

Teachers, administrators and students are invited to participate in these workshops to learn what harassment is under the law, and how hate can impact the educational experience. Ideas and projects to help counter prejudice in school will also be offered to the attendees.

Call 862-8600.
