ATLANTIC CITY -- Scott Stirling made 27 saves and registered his eighth victory of the ECHL season Tuesday night as the defending champion Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies handed the Las Vegas Wranglers their first shutout loss of the season, 3-0, at Boardwalk Hall.
The Wranglers are 0-2-1 on the first three games of their six-game East Coast road trip and 0-2-2 against Eastern Conference teams.
Pierre-Luc Sleigher opened the scoring in the first period. He walked in on right wing and fired a wrist shot from the near circle, beating Marc Magliarditi high on the glove side at 3:09. Jim Henkel doubled the Bullies' lead with a power-play goal in the second period and added an empty-net goal, his eighth of the season, to finish the scoring.
The Wranglers continue their road trip today against the Roanoke Express. Faceoff is 4 p.m. Goaltender Brent Krahn, who was promoted to Lowell of the American Hockey League in October, has rejoined the Wranglers and is expected to start.
