Garden lighting
Ethel M. Chocolates will hold its 10th annual lighting of the Ethel M. Chocolates Botanical Cactus Garden from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Two Cactus Garden Drive in Henderson. Admission is free. 458-8864.
Short film
The UNLV Short Film Archive will screen a selection of award-winning shorts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at UNLV's Architecture Building, Room 127. Admission is free. 895-1575.
Fun run/walk
Dogs and their masters are invited to participate in the "Mutts and Masters Fun Run/Walk" at 8 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center, 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive. Admission is $20 for the run and $15 for the walk. 229-1100.
Talent show
The city of Las Vegas will sponsor a youth talent show, "Show Time Out West," from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the West Community Center, 2050 Sapphire Stone. Admission is $3. 229-8106.
Film festival
The Pulidor Foundation/Spirit of the Nations presents the second annual Native American Arts & Film Festival World Summit & Buffalo Roast from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at the Neonopolis in downtown Las Vegas. Admission is free, but the luncheons planned Saturday and Sunday are $15 for adults, $10 for ages 6-12 and free to those 5 and under. 365-5686.
Film series
Las Vegas-Clark County Library District presents the film "Doe Boy" at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sunrise Library Auditorium, 5400 Harris Ave., as part of Native American Heritage Month. Admission is free. 507-3900.

Lecture

Acting workshops
