Slater, wife in tussle in hotel
Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003 | 9:41 a.m.
Actor Christian Slater was recovering Monday night with stitches in his head after his wife hit him over the head with a glass earlier in the day in their hotel room at the Hard Rock, Metro Police said.
Officers were called to the couple's room about 7 a.m. Monday, police said.
Although police reports say that Slater was treated for his head wound, no hospitals could give out information under a new federal law, spokespeople said.
Metro officers arrested Slater's wife, Ryan Haddon, who was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
Haddon, a television producer, is facing a charge of domestic battery, a misdemeanor, police said.
The couple married in February 2000 at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.
Slater, star of movies such as "Broken Arrow" and "3000 Miles from Graceland," was linked romantically to a series of actresses, including Winona Ryder, Samantha Mathis, Christina Applegate and Christy Turlington, before settling down.
He was sued for palimony after splitting with girlfriend Nina Huang in 1995.
Slater has had run-ins with law enforcement in the past. Los Angeles Police arrested Slater in August 1997, and he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
In 1994 Slater reportedly had been arrested for bringing a gun onto an airplane.
And in December 1989 he was arrested in West Hollywood after leading police on a car chase.
