Golf to benefit Child Haven
Professional golfer Stepanie Louden, a Las Vegas native, will participate in the third annual Through the Eyes of a Child event to benefit Child Haven Friday.
The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. at the Red Rock Country Club.
Those playing golf can place a bid for a chance to play with Louden. For the guests who choose not to golf, a high tea and fashion show will begin at 2:30 p.m., with Las Vegas entertainer, Earl Turner as the emcee, followed by an auction at 5 p.m.
Golf packages are $500; $200 for the tea and fashion show.
Louden, a four-time All-America at Stanford University, was a member of the 2000 U.S. Curtis Cup and World Amateur teams before turning pro. Call 648-9700.
Arts Awareness Luncheon planned
Nevada Arts Advocates will hold an Arts Awareness Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in William B's Restaurant at the Stardust.
Don Snyder, president of Boyd Gaming and chairman of the Las Vegas Performing Arts Foundation, will speak about the downtown arts center with "How a Dream Becomes a Reality."
The luncheon is open to the public. Tickets are $30. Call 362-8885.
The Silent Auction Treasure Hunt
will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Antique Sampler Shoppes, 6115 W. Tropicana Ave., to benefit Stand-up For Kids, a nonprofit organization helping homeless children. The event will include refreshments and musical entertainment.

The Southern Nevada Hunter-Jumper Association
is holding its last horse show of the year at 10 a.m. Friday, and 7:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Horseman's Park, 5800 E. Flamingo Road. The public is welcome at no admission charge and food and beverage are available for purchase. Call 240-2776 or register at www.horseshowtime.com.
