Services are scheduled Tuesday for a 13-year-old Las Vegas girl who died three weeks after she was hit by a car while crossing a street in Southern Highlands.
Services for Tabatha Speas will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the same location.
Speas died Thursday at her Southern Highlands home, days after being released from University Medical Center, where she had been taken after the accident.
Speas and her friend, Adriana Lauzon, also 13, were struck by a car as they crossed Shinnecock Hills Avenue near Tucci Street on Oct. 15. Lauzon died Oct. 21 at UMC.
The accident prompted a public outcry to put more crosswalks in residential neighborhoods where traffic is heavy.
Bank accounts to help defray medical costs for Speas and Lauzon have been set up at local banks.
Donations to the Tabatha Speas fund can be made at any Bank of America branch.
Donations to the Adriana Lauzon fund can be made at Bank of the West branches.
