Charlotte Arons

Charlotte Arons, 83, of Las Vegas died Oct. 31 in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1920, in St. Paul, Minn. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald Arons of Las Vegas, Michael Arons of Parker, Ariz., and Gerald Arons of Susanville, Calif.; one daughter, Teresa Case of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.

Doris Rosemary Baker

Doris Rosemary Baker, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 15, 1936, in New York. A resident for 35 years, she was a professional doll maker and an Air Force veteran.

She is survived by three sons, Edward Thomas, Michael Cossillo and Bobby Thomas; one daughter, Agnes Stefanski; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Tuesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Ruth Cohen

Ruth Cohen, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert; one daughter, Barbara Cohen of Chicago; two sons, Robert Cohen of Carlsbad, Calif., and Paul Cohen of Southlake, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.

Alice Dessel

Alice Dessel, 87, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. An apartment manager, she was born Dec. 6, 1915, in St. Louis.

She is survived by one son, Gene Dessel of Las Vegas; and one daughter, Alice Boyer.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Lola Faye Haynes

Lola Faye Haynes, 65, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born March 1, 1938, in Prescott, Ariz. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was a retired district manager in cosmetics sales.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh L.; two sons, Donald L. Haynes of Redwood City, Calif., and Daniel L. Haynes of Las Vegas; one daughter, Patricia L. Ygoa of Elko; two brothers, Dale Cochran of Snohomish, Wash., and Sam Cochran of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday with an 11:30 a.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Eleanor C. Hirsch

Eleanor C. Hirsch, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 5, 1920, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired apartment manager.

She is survived by two sisters, Rhonda Epstein and Joan Rovegno.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Lorene Jelone

Lorene Jelone, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Chattanooga, Tenn. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired purchasing agent for the Veterans Administration and a World War II Navy veteran.

She is survived by one son, Randy Jelone; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Tony Loring

Tony Loring, 67, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 10, 1936, in Boston. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired grocery store produce manager and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; two daughters, Becky Gold of Los Angeles and Alecia Fife of Las Vegas; one son, Craig Loring of Pelham, N.H.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Tuesday with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 8:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Erica Lusson

Erica Lusson, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born in Las Vegas. A resident for 23 years, she was a medical office manager.

She is survived by her husband, Enrique; one son, Enrique Lusson Jr., her mother, Maria Gonzalez, her father, Javier Moreno, two sisters, Melanie Aguilar and Jessica Moreno, and two brothers, Javier Moreno Jr. and Jordan Gonzalez, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until a 2 p.m. service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Bettie Mae Miles

Bettie Mae Miles, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A hotel telephone operator, she was born May 25, 1922.

She is survived by one sister, Verilee Shelbourne of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Valentine Nieves

Valentine Nieves, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Puerto Rico. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired maintenance worker in the transportation industry and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Yolanda; two daughters, Grisel Nieves and Carmen Nieves, both of New York City; three sons, Raul Nieves of Miami, Gilberto Nieves of Orlando, Fla., and Wilfredo Nieves of New York City; three sisters, Josefina Nieves of Puerto Rico, Gladys Nieves of Orlando and Felicia Nieves of New Jersey; two brothers, Francisco Nieves of New Jersey and Gilberto Nieves of Orlando; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Mildred M. Ortega

Mildred M. Ortega, 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Tabasco, Colo. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired retail saleswoman.

She is survived by her husband, Alonzo "Russ"; two daughters, Patricia Palmer of Riverside, Calif., and Roxane Ortega of Henderson; two sons, Ronald Ortega of San Francisco and Greg Ortega of Las Vegas; two sisters, Alice Baca of Littleton, Colo., and Elizabeth Senia of Henderson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Barbara 'Gail' Robbins

Barbara "Gail" Robbins, 60, of Las Vegas died Nov. 3 in Las Vegas. She was born April 20, 1943, in Georgia. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Cruz and Rosalind Chamine Cruz, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Willie Mae Christine, and one sister, Linda Carol Garcia, both of California; and one grandchild.

Tabatha Alyssa Speas

Tabatha Alyssa Speas, 13, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born March 4, 1990, in Austin, Texas. A resident for four months, she was a student.

She is survived by her father, Michael Speas; her mother, Melody Frenzel; three brothers, Michael Robert Speas, Christopher James Speas and Brandon Michael Speas; and one sister, Hannah Avery Speas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
