Letter: Bush tax cuts are reviving economy
Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003 | 9:28 a.m.
Well, as Yogi would say, "It looks like deja vu all over again." Do you remember the JFK tax cuts? Two years into President George W. Bush's tax cuts, the United States economy posts a 7.2 percent growth rate in the third quarter of 2003!
Just in case some of your liberal letter writers don't know it, the last time something close to this happened was 19 years ago -- two years after President Reagan's tax cuts started to take effect. It would be good for America if liberals were required to take Economics 101 from an honest professor working at an honest institution of higher learning.
Liberals continually advocate overspending the U.S. Treasury in areas where the federal government has no business spending anything. If the Republican Congress and President Bush can resist joining them, the deficits will go away -- for real this time.
