Valley receives trace of rain

The black clouds that rolled across the Las Vegas Valley late Monday afternoon produced a trace of rain, but nothing measured by the National Weather Service.

At Mount Charleston Lodge, however, there was a dusting of snow on the ground, melting fast.

"Nothing serious today," Mount Charleston Lodge bartender Paul Card said.

Las Vegas residents flocked up the mountain to see the snow, he said.

"Snow always brings people up here," Card said.

Clouds, breezes and cooler than normal temperatures will stay in Southern Nevada through the week.

Highs will range in the low 60s and lows will dip into the low to mid-40s, weather service forecasters said.

The next chance for a shower comes on Thursday as another winter-like weather system pushes into the valley from the northwest.

Council schedules Galardi issue

The city hearing that could revoke Michael Galardi's license to operate the strip club Cheetahs is scheduled for Wednesday at Las Vegas City Council chambers.

He owns the club with his father, Jack Galardi, whose lawyer has been trying to get the license transferred to the elder Galardi's name.

Michael Galardi, who owns Cheetahs in Las Vegas and Jaguars and Leopard Lounge in unincorporated Clark County, pleaded guilty Sept. 8 in San Diego to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud stemming from government charges that he tried to bribe three San Diego city council members.

The complaint is against La Fuente Inc., which is run by Michael Galardi and Jack Galardi. City officials have said that if council upholds the complaint, it would set a date for a hearing to decide what action to take, which could include stripping the license.
