Gazlay pleads innocent in gate-ramming case

One of the alleged 311 Boyz charged in three attacks in northwest Las Vegas pleaded not guilty on Monday to a separate charge of malicious destruction of private property.

Authorities allege Steven Gazlay, 18, rammed a truck through the closed gates of the Four Winds neighborhood off Durango Drive near Floyd Lamb State Park on June 18. They say the teen had four to five other vehicles following behind him when he entered the community.

Gazlay entered the not-guilty plea during a brief hearing before District Judge Kathy Hardcastle.

Hardcastle initially had been set to preside over a separate case in which Gazlay and eight other teens are charged with maiming a teenager with a rock. She stepped down from that case because her daughter was a student at Centennial High School, where most of the teens are or were students.
