Evelyn L. Annal

Evelyn L. Annal, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Boston. A resident for 28 years, she was a grocery store change person.

She was preceded in death by one son, Vincent M. Proto.

She is survived by one son, Steven Proto of Massachusetts; five daughters, Barbara Norton of Mesquite, Charlotte Proto and Robyn Warren, both of Henderson, Anita J. Brady of Massachusetts and Cheryl Ritter of Las Vegas; six stepchildren; four brothers, Robert Rumble of Ohio, Herbert Rumble of Massachusetts, Charles Rumble of Florida and William Rumble of Las Vegas; two sisters, Catherine Cady and Mildred Coulter, both of Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Clayton B. Baty Sr.

Clayton B. Baty Sr., 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Sacramento. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired Air Force major, a member of the International Arabian Horses Association and the Sheriff's Mounted Posse.

He is survived by two sons, Clayton B. Baty Jr. of Las Vegas and Gary L. Baty of San Diego; two sisters, Delores St. Louis of San Diego and Loretta DeMello of Sacramento; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Wednesday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Howard Bedrock

Howard Bedrock, 67, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born March 27, 1936, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired retail salesman and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; one son, Larry Bedrock of North Las Vegas; two daughters, Leigh Nielson and Cary Tamburo, and his twin brother, Martin Bedrock, all of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Vera Sue Day

Vera Sue Day, 62, of Las Vegas died Friday. She was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Tazewell, Tenn. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Carson Ray; two daughters, Regina Zabinski of Morton, Ill., and Wendy Day of Henderson; two brothers, Hollis Large of Clinton, Tenn., and John Large of Lafayette, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

Carol A. Gilbert

Carol A. Gilbert, 65, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. A retail manager in the gaming industry, she was born April 3, 1938, in Madison, Wis.

She is survived by her husband, Alan; one daughter, Joyce Hicks of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert Couse of Oregon and Dennis Couse of North Carolina; two sisters, Phyllis Poulsen and Vivian Parizek, both of Washington state; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to a 1 p.m. service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Dorothy Gonsky

Dorothy Gonsky, 94, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born April 1, 1909.

She is survived by one son, Gary Gonsky.

Richard F. Magdos

Richard F. Magdos, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in an Ely chapel. He was born Aug. 2, 1937, in Gary, Ind. A resident for 44 years, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service postman who worked 43 years with the North Las Vegas post office, was an Air Force veteran and a member of the North Las Vegas Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Jody; two sons, Troy Anthony Magdos and Peter D. Magdos, one daughter, Arennette A. Beebe, and one brother, David M. Magdos, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Carol Fahey of San Diego and Luann Britton of Amargosa Valley; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be 6 p.m. Friday in the North Las Vegas Elks Lodge, 2939 Van Der Meer St. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Eva M. Peppley

Eva M. Peppley, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. She was born Sept. 12, 1930, in McCune, Kan. A resident for 32 years, she was a dress shop manager.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; three sons, Kenny Peppley, Dennis Peppley and Michael Peppley, and one daughter, Pamela Benjamins, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Elmina A. Phillips

Elmina A. Phillips, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 30, 1920, in Wisconsin. A resident for six years, she was a retired retail clerk.

She is survived by two daughters, Lois M. Platz and Joyce A. Johnson, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Alice E. Pratto

Alice E. Pratto, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Norfolk, Va. A resident for 53 years, she was an executive secretary for the Air Force.

She is survived by four daughters, Carol Sheffield of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Janet McLaughlin of North Las Vegas and Janice Kezele and Susan Slack, both of Henderson; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services are private. Burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Michael Sikirica

Michael Sikirica, 57, of Las Vegas died Oct. 24 in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1946, in Pennsylvania. A resident for four years, he was a chemical engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; and two brothers, Jeffrey Sikirica and Stephen Sikirica.

Berkley E. Smith

Berkley E. Smith, 69, of Henderson died Friday in a local health care center. He was born March 22, 1934, in Cincinnati. A resident for seven years, he was a retired Navy master chief and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and a member of the San Diego Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Carolee; two daughters, Donna Williamson of Peachtree City, Ga., and Laurie Jones of Sharpsburg, Ga.; one son, Brian E. Smith of El Cajon, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Dianne Snyder

Dianne Snyder, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 16, 1941, in Seattle. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired court administrator.

She is survived by one daughter, June Harvey of Las Vegas; three sons, Michael Piscotta, Anthony Piscotta and Robert Snyder, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Kai Hendriksen of Veracruz, Mexico; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Susan L. Stymus

Susan L. Stymus, 46, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 29, 1957, in Lockport, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Robert W.; three sons, William Teaven, Adam Stymus and David Stymus; two daughters, Bobbi Jo Stymus and Shannon Williams; her father, Fred Williams; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Eunice Edna Taplin

Eunice Edna Taplin, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Rochester, Minn. A resident for 23 years, she was a receptionist.

She is survived by her husband, Ford; one daughter, Sondra Lee Maxwell of Santa Ana, Calif.; two sons, Donald James Taplin of Colorado Springs, Colo., and David Alan Taplin of Saugus, Calif.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Loretta Thomas

Loretta Thomas, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born April 15, 1935, in New York.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Rod Collins of Redlands, Calif.; and one daughter, Wendy Collins of Sun City, Ariz.

Thomas L. War

Thomas L. War, 89, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Eureka, Calif. A resident for 61 years, he was a retired senior executive in the chemical industry and held various administrative and managerial positions within the Henderson industrial companies of BMI, Wecco and American Potash. He was vice-president and a board member of Pepcon, president of Federated Employees of Nevada and a charter member and president of Henderson Rotary.

He is survived by two sons, William T. War of Denver and Thomas F. War of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Suzanne Welling of Las Vegas and Shayla Roberts of Phoenix; four stepsons, Robert Welling of Las Vegas, Michael P. Anthony of Phoenix, Gordon Roberts of Salt Lake City and John Roberts of Hillsboro, Calif.; one sister, Barbara Brittain of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
