Mall plan updated

The Rouse Co. announced plans last week for another 80,000 square feet of store space at the Fashion Show mall on the Las Vegas Strip. The stores will be in the vacant 138,000 square feet Lord & Taylor location.
May Department Stores Co. sold the property back to Rouse after May announced this year it would not occupy the space as previously planned.
The balance of the space will go toward a corridor, emergency exits and storage, said Greg Zimmerman, vice president and development director for Rouse, the developer of Fashion Show mall.
Planning and design is now in the works, and construction to reconfigure the space will begin next summer, he said.
As part of the redesign, a new "dramatic" entrance will be added off Las Vegas Boulevard and Fashion Show Drive, which is at the northeast side of the mall.
Zimmerman said the north valet is already heavily used, but plans are to make a "dramatic new presence."
