Fund-raiser
"A Concert for Compassion" will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at Cafe Espresso Roma, 4440 Maryland Pkwy. Suggested donation is $5, and proceeds benefit Doctors Without Borders. 436-7030.
Dinner/concert
A spaghetti dinner and concert featuring contemporary Christian band Ascension will be offered at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. 454-8484.
Free seminar
A free seminar, "Successfully Buying a Home from HUD," will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at the East Las Vegas Senior Community Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave. (972) 788-1100, ext. 535.
Potluck in the park
Central Christian Church's Active Adults Group will hold a "Potluck in the Park" for single adults and couples 55 and older at 6 p.m. today at the park adjacent to the church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive. 735-4004.
Free program
Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center salutes the courage, strength and support of cancer survivors in a program entitled, "Growing Seeds of Survivorship," from 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday, 3186 S. Maryland Pkwy. 731-8788.
Arthritis walk
The Arthritis Foundation holds its second annual "Arthritis Walk" at 8 a.m. Saturday at the University of Las Vegas. Registration begins at 7 a.m. All proceeds from the 3.1-mile walk benefit the Arthritis Foundation. 367-1626.
Movie series
The Clark County Parks and Community Services Department presents the "Starlight Movie Series," which continues at 8:30 p.m. today at Duck Creek Park at the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Pebble Road. Fashion, dance show

Art competition
The Clark County Parks and Community Services' Cultural Division is now accepting samples of work for the fifth annual E. Pluribus Artis invitational exhibit, to be held from June 23 to Aug. 9 in the rotunda of the Clark County Government Center. Slides, photographs or digital prints and an art resume need to be received by 4:30 p.m. June 6. Send all materials to: Diane Bush, Clark County Parks and Community Services, 2601 E. Writing contest
Scripts are being accepted for the 16th Annual Nevada Film Office Screenplay Competition until June 30. Prizes include cash awards, a press conference/ luncheon with the lieutenant governor of the state, gifts and promotion of the top three winning scripts to producers and production companies in Hollywood.
