Letter: Tax raisers will pay the price on election day
Thursday, May 29, 2003 | 8:38 a.m.
Thank God we have at least four legislators in Nevada fighting for the rights of taxpayers, property owners and business owners. I just read that Sen. Sandra Tiffany, R-Henderson, Sen. Ann O'Connell, R-Las Vegas, Sen. Dean Rhoads, R-Tuscarora, and Sen Mike McGinness, R-Fallon, all fought to lower the new tax increase from $1 billion or more to "only" $560 million.
You can be sure that I -- and many thousands of fiscal conservatives like me -- will generously reward those legislators who fought to keep any tax increase low. And we will vote out any legislator who fought to increase taxes on hard-working Nevadans. I will personally pledge to contribute time and money to defeat every single legislator who tried to raise my taxes.
To all those liberal Democrats and big-spenders masquerading as Republicans (see Gov. Kenny Guinn, Majority Leader Bill Raggio and Sen. Randolph Townsend), I have a final message: Enjoy this last vote on taxes -- your careers are history!
