Afraid of math? Try this program
UNLV's Division of Educational Outreach will hold a free orientation night for the Fear of Math program at 7 p.m. Thursday at 851 E. Tropicana Ave.
The program is designed to help students, teachers and working people of all ages who fear math word problems. Instructor Ranel Erickson has designed the five two-hour sessions in the program using engaging games that help students attach meaning to numbers so they can combine them correctly in equations that will make sense to them while at the same time performing the math function intended. Call 895-3394.
