Silverton adding retailer

Silverton Hotel & Casino has secured Bass Pro Shops as an anchor tenant for the property's retail, hotel and entertainment expansion.
The 130,000-square-foot Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World megastore will be located near an additional 25,000 square feet of casino space that will feature a giant aquarium and a redesign of the property's mining town-theme property to complement the mountain lodge architecture of Bass Pro, Silverton representatives said.
Silverton will extend the sportsman theme throughout the casinos's $100 million, three-year expansion.
The first phase of the casino expansion and Bass Pro Store development is scheduled to open in fall 2004.
"The growth of the Las Vegas Valley to the south and west, combined with our prominent I-15 location capturing in- and out-bound Southern California traffic, perfectly positions our property for exciting growth," said Craig Cavileer, executive vice president and general manager of the Silverton.
Springfield, Mo.-based Bass Pro Shops has 19 retail stores nationwide and is known for an outdoor theme that includes logs, rocks, waterfalls, ironwork, aquariums stocked with native fish and antique touches.
