Class offered on baby basics
Barbara Greenspun Womens-Care Center of Excellence, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite No. 330, will offer a baby basics class for grandparents from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The refresher course, will update expectant grandparents on safety, CPR, sudden infant death syndrome, choking, and their role as grandparents.
Also, the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence, will offer another class, Introduction to Natural Family Planning from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Nurse, Mickey Bachman, will conduct the class.

Film, poster contests held
To encourage organ donation awareness among young people, Nevada Donor Network recently sponsored two contests. The first was a short film contest that asked UNLV film students to make ten minute films promoting donation education. The second was a poster contest for high school art students.
The grand prize winners for the film contest were Leonardo Portillo and Franco Carranza. Stephanie Holder, a student at Green Valley High School won first place in the poster contest.

Krauthammer to speak in LV
Columnist and political analyst Charles Krauthammer is speaking 7 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Beth Sholom as part of the Shirley and Sidney Chaplin Lecture Series. Krauthammer is a syndicated columnist for the Washington Post, an essayist for Time magazine, a political analyst for Fox News, a contributing editor to the Weekly Standard and The New Republic, and a weekly panelist on "Inside Washington." The event is free.
Temple Beth Sholom is at 10700 Havenwood Lane, between Sahara Avenue and Desert Inn Road.
