Shots through apartment door kill North Las Vegas woman

An argument between two men Sunday ended when one of the men fired 10 bullets through a closed apartment door, wounding the other man and killing his girlfriend, North Las Vegas Police said.

The Clark County coroner today identified the woman as Jessica Korschinowski, 26, of North Las Vegas.

Korschinowski was shot in the chest during the barrage of gunfire about 5:30 p.m. Sunday at an apartment complex near Cartier and Martin Luther King Boulevard, North Las Vegas Police spokesman Officer Justin Roberts said. Charles McDonald, 33, was wounded in the right arm during the incident.

"McDonald and her lived together -- she was an innocent victim," Roberts said.

Police were searching for Aaron Lamont Eagles, 21, on charges of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon.

Police allege Eagles was arguing with McDonald outside the apartment. Police do not know what the argument was about, Roberts said.

Eagles went to his apartment and got a gun and McDonald ran back into his apartment and locked the door, Roberts said.

Korschinowski was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. McDonald refused to be taken to the hospital because he wanted to stay with the couple's baby, who was in a room sleeping when shots were fired, Roberts said.

After relatives came to care for the infant, McDonald went to a local hospital by private transportation for treatment, police said.
