Music
Concert
The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department hosts a concert by rock band Bloo at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Tickets are $2 for lawn seating, $3 for Section C, $5 for Section B, $7 for Section A and $10 for Section O. 384-8427.
Performance
The Henderson Civic Symphony will celebrate its season finale with a performance at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St. The performance is free. 565-7726.
Jazz orchestra
The Nevada Jazz Orchestra, featuring 18 of the state's finest musicians, presents the final performance of its 2002-03 season at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Tickets are $15 general and $10 seniors and children under 12. 455-7340.
Folk ensemble
Tamburitzans, one of America's premier folk ensembles, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Nicholas J. Horn Theatre at the Community College of Southern Nevada, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. For ticket information, call (877) 826-6437.
Lunchtime concerts
The Las Vegas Legacy Band, playing '30s and '40s big-band swing music, continues the "Next Friday" series of free lunchtime concerts from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, at City Park at 4th Street and Stewart Avenue. 229-4614.
Amateur night
The Beach is now hosting a "Local Band Night" at 9 p.m. every Thursday at 365 Convention Center Drive. The event is free for both participating bands and patrons. 731-1925.
Theater
'Dinner'
Las Vegas Little Theatre presents the 2000 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "Dinner With Friends," at 8 p.m. today, Saturday and Thursday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 3844 Schiff Drive. Tickets are $13 general and $11 for seniors and students. 362-7996.
Shakespeare
The Nevada Theatre Company presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at 8 p.m. today and Saturday at Summerlin Centre Community Park, 1800 Town Center Drive, its second "Shakespeare Under the Stars" production. Tickets are $8 for Summerlin residents and $12 for the general public. 791-4412.
Fairy tales
The Sierra Vista High School Theatre Department presents "Funny, Fractured Fairy Tales" at 7 p.m. today on the school's campus. Tickets are $5. 799-6820, ext. 261.
'Lovers'
The Las Vegas Little Theatre's late-night series, "Insomniac Project," continues with William Shakespeare's "And They Were Lovers" (adapted by Thomas Marcello) at midnight today and Saturday and at 7 p.m. Sunday at 3844 Schiff Drive. Tickets are $5. 362-7996.
'Peter Pan'
The Nevada Ballet Theatre presents the musical, "Peter Pan," at 8 p.m. today, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Judy Bayley Theatre at the University of Las Vegas. Ticket prices start at $25. 895-2787.
