10 percent turnout predicted at polls

With early voting for municipal elections beginning Saturday, Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax predicts about a 10 percent voter turnout countywide, with a 25 percent turnout for Las Vegas' Ward 1.
The Las Vegas ballot features incumbent City Councilman Michael McDonald against Janet Moncrief in the War 1 contest, two Municipal Court races and the $50.6 million Las Vegas Clark County Library District Bond Question. Voters in Las Vegas may vote only at Las Vegas City Hall, the Meadows mall or at a mobile site that changes daily, Lomax said.
Voters in Boulder City have a mayor's race, an at-large City Council race and three ballot questions, but not the library bond issue. Voters there must vote at Boulder City City Hall.
Mesquite voters have a mayor's race, an at-large City Council race and the library bond question. They may vote only at Mesquite City Hall.
Voters in unincorporated Clark County have just the library bond.
