Golf event to help at-risk schools
The Las Vegas West Rotary Golf Classic to benefit at-risk schools will begin at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Canyon Gate Country Club, 2001 Canyon Gate Drive.
A $125 entry fee will be charged for for the four-person scramble. Hole sponsorships are also available. Call 341-6975.
Proceeds will be used by the Rotary Club of Las Vegas West to provide mentoring and school materials for the club's adopted at-risk schools.
The Junior League of Las Vegas
is looking for local celebrities for their second annual Celebrity Waiter Dinner fund-raiser on Saturday at the Tropicana hotel. The celebrities will sponsor a table at the event and serve their personal guests to earn tips to help raise money for the Junior League's programs. Call 562-3982 or 822-6536.
Scout Expo
will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Lorenzi Park, on Washington Avenue off Rancho Drive. Admission is $4 and will help support the work of the Boulder Dam Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. Tickets will be on sale at grocery stores and other retail outlets in Clark County. 968-8133.
The members of Sun City Anthem
will hold a garage sale from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at Del Webb's Sun City Anthem, 2450 Hampton Road, Henderson. Call 614-5864.
Las Vegas Councilman Michael Mack
invites residents to attend a neighborhood meeting in Ward 6 at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parson Elementary School, 4100 Thom Blvd. For more information, call 229-6501.
Kabbalah Centre, 3824 S. Jones Blvd.,
Suite B, will hold a Spring/Summer open house from noon to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The all-day event is planned to introduce newcomers to the concepts of Kabbalah.
