LV lobbyist won’t be fired after DUI arrest

Kami L. Dempsey, Las Vegas' chief lobbyist, will not be terminated following her arrest in Carson City last week on a charge of drunken driving in a city-owned vehicle.

Deputy City Manager Betsy Fretwell said Wednesday that she could not comment on the details, because it is a personnel matter, but said that "the appropriate disciplinary action was taken" and that Dempsey would not be fired over the incident.

Dempsey posted $1,300 bail and was released from the Carson City jail Thursday after her arrest in a residential neighborhood. She will appear in Justice Court June 5.
